About Purple Cloud

The original Purple Cloud logoSeptember 2002 saw the launch of Purple Cloud, a new type of hosting service. We thought that there was a crucial gap in the market - a budget provider with excellent customer service. We also recognised that whilst many hosts provided huge amounts of server space and data transfer, many people simply didn't need that much capacity for their personal or small business websites.

Purple Cloud quickly expanded its customer base, mostly thanks to our satisfied customers recommending us to friends, family and work colleagues. Our reputation for excellent customer service proved and continues to prove to be our greatest asset.

Expansion

In March 2004 Purple Cloud upgraded from its previous reseller status and purchased its first dedicated hosting server. This gave us much greater flexibility and further scope for expansion.

May 2006 was a huge milestone for Purple Cloud, with the complete re-launch and overhaul of our service. We introduced a brand new website and customer account system, My Purple Cloud, to provide a massively enhanced customer experience. We also expanded the range of hosting packages on offer, allowing customers to host much more substantial sites. Accross all of our service, old and new, we continually strive to maintain our high levels of customer service.

Our Values

We recognise that we are operating in a hugely competitive market. With that in mind, customer service is our priority. By this we mean:

  1. Emails from customers are answered within 24 to 48 hours under normal circumstances. During business hours, you will often receive a response to your enquiry within a matter of minutes.
  2. Helpful and friendly technical support, where your question is answered and not avoided.
  3. Reliability - our business has been built almost purely on word of mouth, so we need you to be satisfied. It simply is not in our interests to sign you up to a poor service, because you won't recommend us.
  4. Honesty and fairness - we are up front about what we offer, there are no catches or hidden charges. We're proud of what we do, so we don't have anything to hide.
