POP email

Allows you to access your email from your own email client such as Outlook or Thunderbird. Emails are downloaded from the server using this method.

IMAP email

Allows you to access your email from your own email client and have emails marked as read on the server. Emails stay on our server.

Redirects

A redirect does exactly that - redirects emails from one address to another. You can redirect to another address on your email domain, or to a completely external email address.

Mail Groups

Mail Groups are like redirects, except that you can have multiple destination addresses.

This means that an email sent to a mail group address is actually sent to all of the people in the group.

Autoresponders

Autoresponders are used to send automated replies to all emails sent to them.

For example, you can tell people when you are out of the office and direct them to contact someone else with their enquiry.

Mailing lists

Mailing Lists are used to distribute messages over a group of different people.

The basic functionality is identical to a mail group, but mailing lists have a huge range of additional options allowing people to subscribe to your list, choose how they reiceve messages, etc.

Databases

Databases allow you to store structured data for your applications on your website. You would normally use a scripting language such as PHP to access the data and display it on your site.

Examples of information that may benefit from being stored in a database include forum messages and guestbook entries.

Web Users

Web users allow you to allocate sections of your site to friends and family.

Web users have their own FTP account, with their files appearing at http://www.example.co.uk/~username, where example.co.uk is your domain name and username is the name allocated to the web user.

Subdomains

Subdomains allow you to create separate sites within a single domain name. If your domain is example.co.uk, you can have subdomains like john.example.co.uk or shop.example.co.uk.

Subdomains can either be accessed using the same FTP account as the main part of your site, or you can create a new FTP account specifically for the subdomain.

Custom DNS

This feature gives advanced users complete control over the DNS records for their domain name.

You can control the NS, A, CNAME, MX and PTR records for your domain. Please note that altering your DNS records can result in your email service not operating correctly.
